  • Added new PROs: Two new PROs joined NSA in 2019: Southern Self Storage of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Moove In Self Storage of York, PA, for an initial combined contribution of approximately 13 facilities valued at approximately $85.5 million dollars.
  • Captive pipeline acquisitions1: NSA acquired 6 facilities from its captive pipeline totaling $45.9 million
  • Third party acquisitions: NSA acquired 50 facilities from third parties totaling $316.5 million
  • JV acquisitions: NSA did not make any JV acquisitions in 2019.

1. We consider a property to be in our captive pipeline if it (i) is under a management service agreement with one of our PROs, (ii) meets our property quality criteria, and (iii) is either required to be offered to us under the applicable facilities portfolio management agreement or a PRO has a reasonable basis to believe that the controlling owner of the property intends to sell the property in the next seven years.
