National Storage Affiliates Trust is a real estate investment trust headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado, focused on the ownership, operation and acquisition of self storage properties predominantly located within the top 100 metropolitan statistical areas throughout the United States. Reports To:  VP of Acquisitions

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential assets for acquisition using proprietary model, and underwriting structure
  • Assist with innovation of underwriting model and process
  • Monitor and maintain underwriting pipeline of acquisitions, and communicate with outside broker contacts, and internal management about status
  • Prepare Investment Memorandum for acquisitions for review by Finance Committee
  • Communicate effectively with multiple business partners including Operations, Customer Acquisitions, and FP&A to adjust underwriting metrics to meet current market trends

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with financial underwriting models is a must
  • Ability to effectively analyze markets, and key business drivers
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and research abilities
  • Self-Motivated with strong time management skills and ability to prioritize deadlines
  • Desire and passion to learn more about real estate markets in general, and the REIT/Self Storage industry
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, and active acquisitions group
  • Desire to evaluate current processes and find ways to improve them and make them more efficient

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in research, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in an Acquisitions Analyst role or other related real estate analysis experience

Compensation Range: $70,000-$80,000 annually

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: Greenwood Village, CO

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Works in an indoor office

  • Occasional lifting of supplies and materials from time to time
  • Positions in this class typically include extended sedentary positions, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, movement and repetitive motions
