The Director of Training, Leadership, and Organizational Development will be responsible for providing insight and leadership for the total talent life cycle. This position will support and work with the leaders of various functional areas and departments including hiring, onboarding, field employee training and development, leadership training and development, career pathing, and bench strength development. This individual will work on designing, developing and implementing various talent initiatives and programs for iStorage and National Storage Affiliates. The work will include assessing and diagnosing organizational needs, creating change initiatives, and delivering world-class training and organizational development solutions that support NSA’s strategic vision.

Duties and Responsibilities
Collaboration: The Director of Learning and Development will play an integral part of our organization and will be required to partner with various stakeholders in support of their training and development needs. It will take a close partnership and meaningful collaboration to maximize the impact these programs will have on our talent.
Communication Skills: The Director of Learning and Development should be able to read, write and communicate clearly and concisely through various channels including in-person, email, web conference, and phone to maximize transparency and clarity while partnering with a geographically diverse workforce. All of these methods are even more critical in the delivery of training to our organization and the Director of Learning and Development and effective communication in all forms is a must for this role.
Innovation/Adaptability: Our business is constantly evolving and it’s important that our leaders can pivot and adapt as the environment demands. Our Director of Learning and Development will need to be able to adjust the organization’s strategy in training in development to account for various factors in our industry, current trends in the employment marketplace and to have strategic vision for adapting our approach based on new technologies and factors that impact our industry.

Education and Experience
Director, Learning & Development is expected to travel throughout the company approximately 40% of the time.
